This portal is an initiative of Government of India to facilitate victims/complainants to report cyber crime complaints online. This portal caters to complaints pertaining to cyber crimes only with special focus on cyber crimes against women and children. Complaints reported on this portal are dealt by law enforcement agencies/ police based on the information available in the complaints. It is imperative to provide correct and accurate details while filing complaint for prompt action.


Please contact local police in case of an emergency or for reporting crimes other than cyber crimes.

ONLINE MARKETING PLACE for the Products made by Women (MAHILA E-Haat)

Mahila e-Haat


Mahila E-Haat is an initiative for meeting the aspirations and needs of women entrepreneurs. It is an online marketing platform for women, where participants can display their products. The initiative applies to all women across the country as a part of ‘Digital India’ and ‘Stand Up India‘ initiative. The platform has been established by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India under Rashtriya Mahila Kosh (RMK).


Mission of Mahila e-Haat

Mahila e-Haat acts as an initiating element to provide a web-based marketing platform to women entrepreneurs to directly sell their products to their buyers.


Features of Mahila e-Haat

The major highlights of the scheme are as follows.


Provides an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to use technology to showcase products that are made/ manufactured/ sold by them.

Women can also showcase services that are provided by them reflecting creative potential.

E-Haat requires only the mobile number as the entire business of E-Haat can be handled through mobile by the producer.

For the facilitation of the buyer and seller, the product along with its photographs, description, cost and mobile number/ address of the producer would be displayed on the E-Haat portal.

The buyer has the option of approaching the seller physically, telephonically or through Email or other means as convenient to the seller. Therefore it is a direct interface between buyer and seller, to facilitate marketing of products of women entrepreneurs/ SHG.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant has to be Indian women/ women SHG/ women-led enterprises.

The applicant has to above 18 years of age.

The goods and services transacted through this portal have to be legal.

Terms and Conditions

Both seller and buyers have to indemnify RMK from any or all acts of transgression.

Participants/ vendors have to display the products of good quality and have to be responsible for the quality of the products. RMK would not be responsible for this purpose. The participants/ vendors have to deal with every defect and deficiency that are related to the products and services, and RMK shall not be responsible for any defect and deficiency.

The participants/ vendors make sure the timely delivery of products/ services to the customer.

All products would be displayed for thirty days and would be re-exhibited after a break of thirty days.

RMK reserves all rights to select the products/ services that have to be listed on E-Haat. Once the selection is completed, the RMK informs the participants/ vendors upon which the participants/ vendors have to send acceptance letter and undertaking so that the products and services contacts gets displayed.

Participants/ vendors ensure that illegal or smuggled goods are not displayed or transacted by them nor any illegal services are conducted by them through the portal. Any breach in this account shall be the sole responsibility of the particulars/ vendors including legal action.

The participants/ vendors have to ensure that all legal formalities according to the law of the land are complied with for all overseas sales. ‘The participants/ vendors make sure that all applicable taxes are paid and relevant laws/ rules and regulations are followed.

The terms and conditions including the eligibility criteria may be changed at any time at the sole discretion of RMK.

The participants/ vendors receive the payment directly from the buyer.

The participants/ vendors are required to maintain the transaction details that are made through the portal and have to send a quarterly report to RMK and must display the logo of Mahila E-Haat on the packaging.

The participants/ vendors have to furnish an undertaking on stamp paper of minimum charges as applicable in their State.

ERSS-112 EMERGENCY CALL number & PRAKHAR VANS project to reduce Street Crimes


The next time you have a fire emergency and simultaneously need police and ambulance assistance, instead of calling three separate helpline numbers – 100 (police), 101 (fire), and 102 (ambulance) just dial “112”. 
The emergency response support system (ERSS-112) was launched in Delhi on Wednesday by union minister of state for home affairs, G Kishan Reddy.

The helpline system which has been developed as a nationwide single emergency number for emergency services – police, fire, and ambulance – will gradually phase out the other three emergency helpline numbers, said Delhi Police commissioner Amulya Patnaik.

This single number for emergency services is similar to “112” in the European Union consisting of 28 member states and ‘’911’’ in the United States of America.

With this, Delhi becomes the 19th state to have adopted ERSS-112. Initially, it was launched in Himachal Pradesh and Nagaland and was further extended to 16 other states.

Patnaik said the implementation of new ERSS-112 system will help in reducing the police response to any distress call. The new emergency response system has come in the form of mobile application, similar to Himmat Plus app, as well. Apart from citizens who can volunteer to help the people in need by downloading the 112 mobile application, all police beat staff, and personnel deployed in patrol vans have also been directed to register themselves on the mobile application. In the new system, the call simultaneously passes to police control room as well as to at least nearby five persons, who register themselves as volunteers through mobile app.
HOW TO USE:
“In case of emergency, a person can dial 112 from phone or press power button thrice on smart phone quickly to activate a panic call to the Emergency Response Centre (ERC). This call immediately passes to the control room for providing immediate police assistance to the distress caller. The distress calls can also be made through e-mails and text messages,” Patnaik.

Explaining the functioning of ERSS-112 system, special commissioner of police (operations) Muktesh Chander said that the 112 control room will receive all emergency calls. “If it is a fire emergency, the software will automatically transmit the call to the fire control room. Similarly, medical emergency calls will electronically reach ambulance control room. In this way, all emergency control rooms will get information about the distress calls,” Chander said.

While launching the single emergency nmber, Reddy also flagged off “Prakhar” vans fleet for patrolling at crime hotspot locations. Police inducted 15 Scorpio SUVs with modern devices for extensive patrolling areas in Delhi which are prone to street crimes.

“Prakhar vans are different from PCRs as these vans carry more firepower and are equipped with modern technology. Initially one van will be deployed in each district. Its strength will augment in due course with a target of 100 such vans for the city,”

Initiative to tackle Inherited Genetic Diseases in the Newly born babies

Recently, the Government of India has launched UMMID (Unique Methods of Management and Treatment of Inherited Disorders) initiative to tackle inherited genetic diseases of newborn babies.


The programme will be implemented through government hospitals to regularise the use of cutting edge scientific technology and molecular medicine to achieve Universal Health Coverage for all.
The initiative is designed on the concept of ‘Prevention is better than Cure’.
In India’s urban areas, congenital malformations and genetic disorders are the third most common cause of mortality after prematurity & low birth weight issues and infections in newborns.
A very large population and high birth rate, and consanguineous marriage favoured in many communities are some of the important reasons for the high prevalence of genetic disorders in India.
The UMMID initiative aims:
To establish NIDAN (National Inherited Diseases Administration) Kendras to provide counselling, prenatal testing and diagnosis, management, and multidisciplinary care in Government Hospitals wherein the influx of patients is more.
To produce skilled clinicians in Human Genetics,
To undertake screening of pregnant women and newborn babies for inherited genetic diseases in hospitals at aspirational districts.
To create awareness about genetic disorders amongst clinicians and to establish molecular diagnostics in hospitals.
The three components of UMMID Initiative
  • UMMID initiative shall work to shift focus from “sick-care” to “wellness” by promoting the prevention of genetic diseases.
  • Inherited Genetic Diseases
  • A genetic disorder is a disease caused in whole or in part by a change in the DNA sequence away from the normal sequence.
  • Genetic disorders can be caused by a mutation in one gene (monogenic disorder), by mutations in multiple genes (multifactorial inheritance disorder), by a combination of gene mutations or by damage to chromosomes.
  • Some of the examples of Genetic disorders are: Sickle Cell Anemia, Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure, Alzheimer's Disease, Diabetes, Cancer, and Obesity.

Pension Scheme for SMALL & MARGINAL FARMERS (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana)


Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan-Dhan Yojana (PM-KMY) is an old age pension scheme for all land holding Small and Marginal Farmers (SMFs) in the country. It is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme for the entry age group of 18 to 40 years. The Scheme is effective from the 9thAugust, 2019.

Salient features

It is voluntary and contributory for farmers in the entry age group of 18 to 40 years and a monthly pension of Rs. 3000/- will be provided to them on attaining the age of 60 years.

The farmers will have to make a monthly contribution of Rs.55 to Rs.200, depending on their age of entry, in the Pension Fund till they reach the retirement date i.e. the age of 60 years. The monthly contributions will fall due on the same day every month as enrolment date. The beneficiaries may alsochose an option to pay theircontributionson quarterly, 4-monthly or half-yearly basis. Such contributionswill fall dueon the same day of such period as the date of enrollment

The spouse is also eligible to get a separate pension of Rs.3000/- upon making separate contributions to the Fund.

The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) shall be the Pension Fund Manager and responsible for Pension pay out.

In case of death of the farmer before retirement date, the spouse may continue in the scheme by paying the remaining contributions till the remaining age of the deceased farmer. If the spouse does not wish to continue, the total contribution made by the farmer along with interest will be paid to the spouse. If there is no spouse, then total contribution along with interest will be paid to the nominee.

If the farmer dies after the retirement date, the spouse will receive 50% of the pension as Family Pension. After the death of both the farmer and the spouse, the accumulated corpus shall be credited back to the Pension Fund.

The beneficiaries may opt voluntarily to exit the Scheme after a minimum period of 5 years of regular contributions. On exit, their entire contribution shall be returned by LIC with an interest equivalent to prevailing saving bank rates.

The farmers, who are also beneficiaries of PM-Kisan Scheme, will have the option to allow their contribution debited from the benefit of that Scheme directly.

In case of default in making regular contributions, the beneficiaries are allowed to regularize the contributions by paying the outstanding dues along with prescribed interest. Until 1 month from first unpaid contribution, no late fee would be charged. Three payment cycles demand would be raised for payment of contribution without any interest.

BHAROSA SAVINGS ACCOUNT by Airtel payments bank as a part of Financial Inclusion


Airtel Payments Bank has launched 'Bharosa savings account' which enables customers to withdraw cash, check their balance or access a mini statement of their account at over 6,50,000 Aadhaar-enabled payment system (AePS) enabled outlets across India. These services have been designed for deepening financial inclusion in the country. "The benefits of this product will be further amplified through a structured roadway for phased introduction of other features linked to formal banking. To begin with, it will be available at over a quarter million banking points. 

1) Bharosa savings account customers can also withdraw cash, check their balance or access a mini statement of their account at over 6,50,000 AePS (Aadhaar-enabled payment system) enabled outlets across India," the company said in a statement.

2) Along with convenient banking services, Bharosa savings account offers ₹5 lakh personal accident insurance on maintaining balance of ₹500.

3) Airtel Payments Bank Bharosa Savings Account will allow you minimum one debit transaction per month.

4) Customers would also be eligible for cashback, if they decide to receive government subsidies in their Bharosa account or if they make cash deposits in it, the company said in a statement.

5) Airtel Payments Bank offers digital banking services through a network of 5,00,000 neighbourhood banking points spread across India.

What are payment banks?

According to the Reserve Bank of India guidelines for licensing of payments banks, the main objective of a payments bank is to enhance financial inclusion. This is expected to be done by providing small savings accounts. In August 2015, RBI had given in-principle approval to 11 entities to start payments bank in India, which included the department of posts. Airtel Payments Bank was the first one to launch it.

Scheme to support and protect the women in distress (SWADHAR GREH)


The Ministry of Women and Child Development is implementing the Swadhar Greh Scheme which targets the women victims of difficult circumstances who are in need of institutional support for rehabilitation so that they could lead their life with dignity. The Scheme envisages providing shelter, food, clothing and health as well as economic and social security for these women.

Obejctives:

Under the Scheme, Swadhar Greh will be set up in every district with capacity of 30 women with the following objectives:

To cater to the primary need of shelter, food, clothing, medical treatment and care of the women in distress and who are without any social and economic support.
To enable them to regain their emotional strength that gets hampered due to their encounter with unfortunate circumstances.
To provide them with legal aid and guidance to enable them to take steps for their readjustment in family/society.
To rehabilitate them economically and emotionally.
To act as a support system that understands and meets various requirements of women in distress.
To enable them to start their life afresh with dignity and conviction.

STRATEGIES

The objectives cited above would be pursued adopting the following strategies:

Temporary residential accommodation with the provision of food, clothing, medical facilities etc.
Vocational and skill up gradation trainings for economic rehabilitation of such women
Counseling, awareness generation and behavioral trainings
Legal aid and Guidance
Counseling through telephone
BENEFICIARIES

The benefit of the component could be availed by women above 18 years of age of the following categories:

Women who are deserted and are without any social and economic support;
Women survivors of natural disasters who have been rendered homeless and are without any social and economic support;
Women prisoners released from jail and are without family, social and economic support;
Women victims of domestic violence, family tension or discord, who are made to leave their homes without any means of subsistence and have no special protection from exploitation and/ or facing litigation on account of marital disputes; and
Trafficked women/girls rescued or runaway from brothels or other places where they face exploitation and Women affected by HIV/AIDS who do not have any social or economic support. However such women/ girls should first seek assistance under UJJAWALA Scheme in areas where it is in operation.
Women affected by domestic violence could stay up to one year. For other categories of women, the maximum period of stay could be up to 3 years. The older women above the 55 years of age may be accommodated for maximum period of 5 years after which they will have to shift to old age homes or similar institutions.

Swadhar Greh facilities could also be availed by the children accompanying women in the above categories. Girls up to the age of 18 years and boys up to the age of 8 years would be allowed to stay in the Swadhar Greh with their mothers. (Boys of more than 8 years of age need to be shifted to the Children Homes run under JJ Act/ICPS.)

LPG GAS CONNECTION SCHEME TO FAMILIES (Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana)


  • Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) aims to safeguard the health of women & children by providing them with a clean cooking fuel – LPG, so that they don’t have to compromise their health in smoky kitchens or wander in unsafe areas collecting firewood.

  • Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on May 1st, 2016 in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. Under this scheme, 5 Cr LPG connections will be provided to BPL families with a support of Rs.1600 per connection in the next 3 years. Ensuring women’s empowerment, especially in rural India, the connections will be issued in the name of women of the households. Rs. 8000 Cr. has been allocated towards the implementation of the scheme. Identification of the BPL families will be done through Socio Economic Caste Census Data.

  • PMUY is likely to result in an additional employment of around 1 Lakh and provide business opportunity of at least Rs. 10,000 Cr. over the next 3 Years to the Indian Industry. Launch of this scheme will also provide a great boost to the ‘Make in India’ campaign as all the manufacturers of cylinders, gas stoves, regulators, and gas hose are domestic.

  • The launch of PMUY in Ballia was followed by launch of the scheme in Dahod in  Gujarat by Petroleum Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan & BJP President Shri Amit Shah. PMUY has also been launched in several districts in UP & Bihar.

  • HOW TO APPLY:

  • A woman of the BPL household, may apply for a new LPG connection (in the prescribed format) to the nearest LPG distributor.

  • • While submitting the application form, the woman needs to submit detailed address, Jandhan Bank Account and Aadhar number of all members of the household.

  • • The connection will be issued by the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to the eligible beneficiaries after processing the application.

  • • In case the consumer opts for EMI, the EMI amount will be adjusted against the subsidy amount due to the consumer on each refill.
